The EF and I are registering for wedding prezzies tonight (one of the last and most niggling tasks that needs to happen before Operation Invitation Send-Off).
And while we are not registering at The Bay, I am impressed with their cute little formula you’re supposed to use to determine what and how much to register for:
- count each guest invited to the wedding and divide your guest list in half (a majority of guests will be couples giving one gift)
- add 15% of the guest list (for single gift givers attending on their own)
- add 30% of the guest list (for gift selection to allow for a broad selection and price range)
- use this value as the total amount of gift givers to calculate the amount of gifts for each range.
Gift Values($) under 50 50-75 75-100 100-200 over 200 |
Amount of Gifts 15% of total gift givers 15% of total gift givers 20% of total gift givers 30% of total gift givers 5% of total gift givers |
And if I might be so bold as to suggest a step 5:
* Chuck all that hard work out the window, cuz no matter what you do, somebody’s getting you the faux elk-head serving dish. Oh yeah.
We’re classier than that – you’re getting a real elk head from us!
