Whatsa 299 Eglinton?

Because I have TTC on the brain, a few fun TTC facts:

TTC Codes, from Infiltration

101-120 == Supervisors
122 == Subway Line Supervisor
135A == Power Control
199 == Subway Line Mechanic Supervisor
142 == Subway Route Supervisor (you’d hear 142 at Kennedy or some such)
143 == Chief Supervisor
147 == Fare Supervisor
148 == Transit Patrol Security
201-220 == TTC Armoured Trucks
299 == Subway Line Mechanic
301-310 == Streetcar Track/Overhead Maintenance
506 == Station Janitor
630-649 == Electricians and Signal Maintenance
828 == Streetcar Switch Maintenance
Priority One/ “personal injury at track level” == Jumper

“They have Priority 1, then they also have Plan A, B, C and D. I’ve hardly heard these used before…they refer to a fire. I believe Plan A is a fire in the station, Plan B is a fire at track level, Plan C is a fire on a train in a station and Plan D is a fire on a train in a tunnel – but I’m not totally sure on that.”

    Just a correction:
    – the 158’s are the “Special Constables” ie. Security

    -135A I believe is actualy the Subway Superintendent and Power control is generaly refered to simply as “Power Control”

    The TTC Radio system makes for a great listen if you have a radio scanner, fun at home, but even better when you are on the system experiancing a delay due to a “medical emergency on board a train” or a “personal injury at track level” … Plan B’s are also fun because they take a while to put out … and people naturaly assume that i was a jumper when few details are given over the PA system and become rather frustrated as they wait and wait … always good to be in the know …
